Bkper's 2024 year in review
Focus on Performance & User Experience
2024 was a year of continued improvements for Bkper. We focused on enhancing the user experience, expanding functionality, and improving overall performance.
One of the most significant developments this year was the launch of our Progressive Web App (PWA). This finally brings back the ability to use Bkper on mobile devices, providing a unified experience across all platforms. Now, whether you’re on your phone, tablet, or desktop, you can access and manage your books with the same look and feel, and soon, with all functionalities.
For our Brazilian users, together with Pluggy.ai we transitioned all bank connections to Open Banking with OAuth. This provides a more secure and efficient way to connect your bank accounts, streamlining the process of recording transactions as they happen at your financial institutions.
Behind the scenes, we dedicated significant effort to improving Bkper’s performance. We optimized background processes and infrastructure and updated our Google Apps Script Libraries, resulting in a faster and more responsive application. We also extracted the bkper.js library from our Node module to facilitate customization and automation for developers.
On the automation front, we introduced the Inventory Bot. This bot automates inventory quantity and value tracking simultaneously, saving you time and reducing human error. Early in the year, we released the first version of Batch Edit and Batch Recovery, simplifying the process of making bulk changes to your books.
2025
Looking ahead to 2025, we plan to complete all the features for the PWA version of the app. We’ll also start working on enhancing your AI experience to post transactions, create charts of accounts, and gain deeper insights into your financial situation.
