Navigating Bkper
Overview of the main pages in Bkper — Book list, Transactions, Accounts, and Automations.
After signing in, you’ll land on one of Bkper’s main pages. Understanding these four core areas will help you orient yourself and navigate efficiently as you work.
Book list
The Book list is your starting point — a dashboard showing all the Books you have access to. From here, you can:
- Create a new Book or copy an existing one
- Access pre-built templates like Business General Ledger or Personal Finances
- Open any Book to start working
- Manage Collections (folders for organizing related Books)
This page appears when you first sign in or click the Bkper logo from within a Book.
Transactions page
The Transactions page is where you record, view, and manage your financial transactions. It’s the heart of bookkeeping in Bkper.
Key features include:
- Recording new transactions manually or via automations
- Searching and filtering transactions with queries
- Checking, editing, or deleting transactions
- Accessing the Configuration Menu (⚙️) for Book settings, copying, or deleting the Book
Every Book opens to the Transactions page by default.
Accounts page
The Accounts page is where you build and maintain your chart of accounts — the structure of assets, liabilities, equity, income, and expenses.
From here, you can:
- Create, edit, or archive Accounts
- Organize Accounts into Groups for better reporting
- Set opening balances for new Accounts
- View real-time balances and activity
Automations page
The Automations page is your control center for Bots and Apps that automate your bookkeeping.
Use it to:
- Install and configure Bots like the Tax Bot or Exchange Bot
- Manage Bank Connections for automatic transaction imports
- Access the Bkper Agent for AI-powered data extraction
Navigation tips
- Use the left sidebar to switch between pages within a Book (Transactions, Accounts, Automations)
- The Book name in the top-left is a dropdown menu for renaming, settings, copying, or deleting the Book
- Click the Bkper logo (top-left) to return to the Book list at any time
- Many features are accessible from multiple pages — you don’t always need to navigate to a specific one
